BSF, Pak Rangers exchange sweets, Diwali wishes on border

Srinagar: The armies of India and Pakistan on Thursday exchanged sweets along the Line of control in Kashmir as a gesture for promoting peace and harmony on the occasion of Diwali, a defence spokesperson said here.
Meanwhile, BSF and Pak Rangers exchange sweets, Diwali wishes on border in Gujrat and Rajasthan, officials said.
“On the occasion of Diwali and as a gesture for promoting peace, harmony and compassion in the true spirit of the festival, Indian and Pakistani Armies held a flag meeting and exchanged sweets at Kaman Aman Setu, Uri and Tithwal Crossing on Kishanganga River in Tangdhar, Kupwara,” the spokesperson said.
He said the events have been held when both the armies have been strictly following the Ceasefire Agreement on the Line of Control.
Meanwhile, personnel of the Border Security Force and Pakistan Rangers exchanged sweets and Diwali wishes on the international border in Gujarat and Barmer in neighbouring Rajasthan.
BSF personnel and Pakistan Rangers also exchanged sweets along various border pillars, as per photos shared by the BSF Gujarat Frontier along with a release.
“Such exchange of sweets and wishes on festivals of national importance enhance mutual harmony, brotherhood and also plays an important role in maintaining friendly and peaceful atmosphere along the border between two border guarding forces,” it said.
