Prof Shahid Rasool, Dr Saleema Jan bereaved
Srinagar, June 28: Vice-Chancellor University of Kashmir Prof Talat Ahmad and CUK Vice Chancellor, Prof. Mehraj ud Din Mir and staff and students of Department of Convergent Journalism condole the demise of veteran mathematician Prof Aziz-ul-Azeem Brother–in-Law of Dean School of Media Studies CUK Prof (Dr) Shahid Rasool and Dr Saleema Jan, Director EMMRC KU
Vice Chancellor CUK Prof Mehraj ud din expressed his condolences to Dr Salima Jan and Prof Shahid Rasool and termed Prof Aziz as a stalwart in mathematics, a noble person and a dedicated teacher. He said that Prof Aziz is globally acknowledged for Aziz theorem,which led to understanding of Zero’s of Polynomials
Meanwhile HOD DCJ Dr Arif Nazir, other staff members and Students expressed sympathies with the bereaved family in this hour of grief and prayed for peace to the departed soul.
Meanwhile, Vice-Chancellor University of Kashmir Prof Talat Ahmad alsocondoled the demise of Prof Aziz-ul-Azeem, former Dean Academics and Head, Department of Mathematics, of the varsity.
The Vice-Chancellor, Registrar Dr Nisar A Mir, Dean Academic Affairs Prof Shabir A Bhat and other senior functionaries of the university prayed for eternal peace to the departed soul while expressing their heartfelt sympathies with the bereaved family.
“Prof Aziz-ul-Azeem was a distinguished mathematician who contributed significantly to the growth and development of the university. His contributions will continue to serve as a guiding force for young scholars to draw inspiration from,” Prof Talat said.
Prof Aziz-ul-Azeem was globally known for ‘Aziz Theorem’ while leading several path-breaking research projects in mathematics.
The deceased was brother-in-law of Dr Saleema Jan, Director EMMRC and Media Advisor Kashmir University and Prof Shahid Rasool, Central University of Kashmir.
The VC, Registrar and other senior officers expressed their sympathies and solidarity with Dr Saleema and Prof Shahid Rasool in this hour of grief.
