Kishtwar accident: Death toll reaches 32
Srinagar:: The death toll in the Kishtwar road mishap has reached 32, officials said.
The overloaded Mini Bus bearing registration number JK17- 6787 was on its way from Keshwan to Kishtwar.
“The mini bus fell down into deep gorge Nallah,” eyewitness said. Meanwhile, in a statement issued by a police spokesman said that a Matador bearing registration Number JK 17 – 6787 skidded off the road and fell into George near Sirgawari Keshwan village in Kishtwar district today morning.
“The ill fated Matador was on way to Kishtwar from Sirgawri. A team of officers of Kishtwar Police rushed on spot and rescued the injured and shifted to District hospital Kishtwar,” the spokesman said.
Deputy Commissioner Kishtwar Angrez Singh Raina confirmed the casualties and said the rescue operation is on to retrieve the bodies.
Meanwhile, sources have confirmed death of 32 people and injuries to 10 others.
