Ahead of elections, over two dozen youth arrested in Pulwama’s villages

Pulwama, April 30 : More than 24 youth have been arrested by police during nocturnal raids in Murran and Kangan area of South Kashmir, sources said.

They said that police laid siege over the twin villages and conducted identification of the youth.

Reports said that last week, clashes had erupted in the Murran area where forces had to resort to aerial firing and tear gas shelling to disperse the protesters.

An official while confirming the arrest of the youth said that they have been picked up as they are involved in recent stone pelting incidents in the area.(KNO)
