Two militants killed in Kellar encounter
Shopain: Two militants are believed to be killed during an encounter that raged in Keller area of Shopian district between security forces and militants early Thursday morning, police sources said.
They said that two bodies been recovered and search operation in the area is still continuing.
Earlier on specific inputs about the presence of militants in the area, a joint team of forces including 23 Paras and SOG cordoned off Yawran area of Keller in Shopian district.
During the initial stage of the cordon, the hiding militants fired upon forces which was retaliated triggering a brief shoot out, they said.
Two militants were killed in the initial shootout and search operation is on as we have inputs that some more militants are trapped in the area, officials said. (KNO)
