Police seized ‘huge consignment’ of psychotropic drugs
Bandipora: Police Wednesday seized huge consignment of psychotropic drugs following an action targeting those involved in drug peddling in North Kashmir’s Bandipora district, a police spokesman said.
He said that on specific information, officers have seized huge quantity of codeine phosphate bottles from the residential house of Bashir Ahmad Chopan son of Abdul Ahad Chopan resident of Chewa.
A case FIR No 41/2019 under relevant sections of law has been registered in PS Sumbal and investigation has been initiated, the spokesman said.
He said that community members are requested to come forward with any information regarding drug peddlers in their neighbourhood. Persons found indulging in drug peddling will be dealt as per law, the spokesman added.
