Sopore residents protest scarcity of drinking water

Sopore: Scores of residents of Saidpora Sopore in north Kashmir’s Baramulla district hit the streets on Friday morning to protests against PHE department for failing to provide adequate drinking water in their area since last many years.
Saidpora Zaingeer village barely 03 kms away from main town Sopore, according to residents is being fed with contaminated water from streams and ponds as PHE department failed to provide proper water supply in their area.
“Our children and elderly mostly suffers from various diseases by taking contaminated water, ” said Manzoor Ahmad Dar a local resident. He said that they are now fed up with the authorities.
