Expresses anguish over losses caused in Sherbagh blaze

Srinagar: Jammu and Kashmir Pradesh Congress Committee (JKPCC) President, G A Mir on Monday expressed profound grief and sorrow over the passing away of Begum Fatima Azad and conveyed his deepest condolences to bereaved family.
She is also paternal aunt of leader of opposition in RajyaSabha, GulamNabi Azad and wife of the then Director Education Late. G.R. Azad.
In his condolence message, Mir described her as a great personality, who has always taken care of the people of his area especially poor and down trodden, she will always be remembered for her philanthropist qualities, the deceased was a great and pious lady, may his soul rest in peace.
“I convey my heartfelt condolences to Azad family and express solidarity with them,” he said, praying for eternal peace to departed soul.
Meanwhile, Mir expressed anguish over the losses caused to property due to fire incident in SherbaghAnantnag and emphasized the Administration to ensure full compensation to fire victims.
Describing the incident as very unfortunate, Mir said he felt disappointed to hear about the fire incident in Sherbagh area in which 11 shops and three houses gutted complete leaving the victims in dilemma.
Mir emphasized the District Administration to make assessment of the losses caused due to fire and ensure compensation to fire victims on fast track basis.
