Geelani pays tribute to slain militant, grieved over Prof Hamidi’s demise

Srinagar: Hurriyat Conference (G) chairman, Syed Ali Geelani on Friday paid tributes to the slain militant who was killed in Awantipora encounter in this morning.
According to a statement issued here, Geelani said that the youth are sacrificing their precious lives for the sacred cause of freedom from clutches of India, “thus making all of us duty bound to safeguard these sacrifices with utmost commitment and dedication to pursue this cause.”
“We should be united in pursuing our common goal to end the age old slavery by India,” he said.
Cautioning people against the multi-faced hypocrites and fresh entrants of the brigade of supporters, Geelani said that “these are the main culprits responsible for the bloodshed and death and destruction all around and they are only concerned with their luxury and dividends at the cost of the life and livelihood of common people.”
Meanwhile, Geelanicondoled the death of former VC of Kashmir University Hamdi Kashmiri. He said Prof Hamidi was literary legend and has a great contribution in promoting and propagating the Urdu language.
He also condoled the demise of mother-in-law of Jamiat-e-Ahlihadith chief Gh. Mohammad Bhat. He condoled bereaved families and prayed for the eternal peace of departed souls and courage to the families to bear this irreparable loss.
