Srinagar: Jammu and Kashmir’s summer capital experienced the coldest December night on Friday as the temperature slipped a bit further and settled at minus 7.7 degrees Celsius.

On December 7, 1990, Srinagar had recorded a low of minus 8.8 degrees Celsius.

According to a meteorological department official, several stations in the Valley registered record night temperature.

While the temperature has been recorded at minus 7.7 degrees on Friday night this makes it the coldest night during the current season.
