Slain militant killed in Pulwama encounter was associated with Hizb: Police
Srinagar: The slain militant who was killed in a gunfight at Rinzipora area of south Kashmir’s Pulwama district on Friday morning was identified as a local militant of Hizbul Mujahideen outfit.
A police official said that the slain militant has been identified as Ishfaq Yousf Wani son of Mohammad Yousuf Wani of Qoil village of Pulwama.
Wani was affiliated with Hizbul Mujahideen outfit and was involved in many militancy related incidents in Pulwama district, he said.
He said that the family of the slain has been informed and the body is being handed over to them for last rites, he said.
Earlier, the encounter broke out after the search party of Army’s 55 RR and SOG was fired upon by the group of militants at Rinzipora area. (GNS)
