Srinagar: Residents in Kashmir experienced a slight relief on Tuesday morning as the night temperature showed some improvement in Srinagar and other towns.

The minimum temperatures was recorded at minus 5.5 in Srinagar minus 7.7 in Pahalgam and minus 7.6 in Gulmarg. In Srinagar the minimum temp recorded on Monday morning was minus 6.8 degrees Celsius.

Drass in Kargil was the coldest place in Jammu and Kashmir at minus 19.5 degrees Celsius. The town remained literally frozen as even the maximum temperatures in the town remained below freezing point.

Leh recorded minus 10 and Kargil minus 14.2 as the minimum temperature today.

Jammu was at 4.1, Katra 5, Batote minus 2, Bannihal minus 3.3 and Bhaderwah was at minus 2.2 degrees Celsius.
