Srinagar: Hurriyat Conference on Monday paid tributes to the three armed youth including two teenagers- Mudassir Parray, 14, Saqib Bilal 17, both residents of Hajin, Bandipora and Ali Bhai, who were killed by forces at Mujgund on Srinagar outskirts.
Hurriyat (M) in a statement issued here said that as a consequence of ultimate repression by state even minor boys are resorting to picking up arms and sacrificing their lives for the cause of right to self determination and that it is the collective responsibility of the people and the leadership to protect these sacrifices.
“The youth are offering their lives for a great and sacred cause and these sacrifices are the priceless assets of the ongoing movement while as it’s high time people must forge unity and remain steadfast to achieve the final goal,” he said.
The spokesman expressed a serious concern over blowing up half a dozen residential houses by using artillery that otherwise is used in wars. “It was a historical fact that the people of Kashmir were fighting for their legitimate birth right- the right to self determination but the Government of India while banking on the huge military might continues to follow its military might to crush the people’s political movement,” he said.
“Delhi is following its aggressive policy that entails killing, maiming and vandalizing the properties under the guise of search operations and that there is no end to rights violations,” he said.
The spokesman stressed that Kashmir is a human and political issue which needs to be resolved by means of dialogue. “Kashmir solution only can guarantee the political instability in south Asia,” he added.
The spokesman strongly condemned the force used on protesters at Mujgund, leaving several youth injured.
Meanwhile, the spokesman denounced the arrest of 10 youth during nocturnal raids at Awantipora besides condemning the arrest of senior Hurriyat leader Engineer Hilal War, Mukhtar Ahmed Waza and dozens of Hurriyat activists, sealing of historic Jamia Masjid, terming it as ‘the ultimate repression and the open display of state terrorism’.
