Panchayat polls: Valley records 49.6% turnout in eighth phase
Srinagar: Nearly 50 per cent voter turnout was recorded in the eighth phase of Panchayat polls in Kashmir valley on Saturday, even as total turnout in the state stood at 80 per cent.
According to the figures released by the chief electoral officer, total turnout in the state was recorded at 79.7%.
While 49.6 % turnout was recorded in Kashmir, 85.1% was recorded in Jammu division.
The ninth and last phase of panchayat polls will be held on December 11.
Here is the final voter turnout in all the blocks: Kupwara 53.8%, Bandipora 18%, Baramulla 56.9%, Srinagar 11.6%, Budgam 9.1%, Reasi 89.8%, Kathua 84%, Samba 84%, Jammu 84.8 and Rajouri 82.4%
