Kichloo pays tribute to Sher-e-Kashmir on his birth anniversary

Kishtwar: Senior National Conference (NC) leader and former minister Sajjad Ahmed Kichloo on Wednesday paid tributes to Sher-e-Kashmir Sheikh Mohammad Abdullah, saying his ‘secular and progressive outlook will continue to be a source of inspiration for generations’.
Speaking at a function held here this morning to pay homage to Baba-e-Quom, Kichloo in a statement issued here said that “isolating communal forces and strengthening the bonds of amity and brotherhood will be biggest tribute to Baba-e-Quom, who strived all his life for harmony among different segments of society and unity between the three regions of Jammu and Kashmir.”
He exuded confidence that the NC cadre will stand tall in the prevailing vicious atmosphere of hate and mistrust and lead the society towards peace, harmony and tranquility in true spirit of secular ethos bequeathed by Sheikh Mohammed Abdullah.
Describing “Sher-e-Kashmir” as one of tallest leaders of the era of Mahatma Gandhi and Khan Abdul Gaffar Khan, Kichloo said, “The great leader, known as Lion of Kashmir has bequeathed a rich legacy to generations.”
Kichloo said that “Sher-e-Kashmir Sheikh Mohammad Abdullah’s legacy denotes the State’s high traits of pluralistic ethos and inclusiveness. He nurtured and strengthened this characteristic and strengthened the bonds of love between various sections of the society and different regions of the State. His ultimate goal was the political and economic empowerment of the common man and the equitable development of the State. His vision of “Naya Kashmir” encompassed holistic and comprehensive development of all sections and all regions of the State without any favour or discrimination,” he added.
