Srinagar: Jammu and Kashmir Public Service Commission (JKPSC) has notified selection lists for 60 medical officers, 10 lady medical officers and 5 lecturer posts.
The Health and Medical Education Department had earlier referred 60 posts of Casualty Medical Officer to the Public Service Commission for filling up the posts at an earliest.
The Commission said that, in response to the filling up of 60 posts of Medical Officers, 1465 applications were received and later, after the written examination that was conducted, “133 candidates were declared to have qualified the written test and were called for the interview.”
So far being one of the swift recruitments, Commission, while giving the district-wise break, said that for district Anantnag 6 posts have been filled under open merit, 6 under Resident of Backward Area, 3 under Scheduled Caste Category, 01 under Scheduled Tribe Category and 1 under Actual Line of Control. Same stands true for district Baramulla, Kathua, Doda, Rajouri where the new GMC’s are coming up.
Further, the Health & Medical Education Department had referred 10 posts in the discipline of Lady Medical Officer—two each in GMC Anantnag, Baramulla, Kathua, Rajouri and Doda—to the Commission for being filled up from amongst the suitable candidates, and in response to the notification issued, 499 applications were received, an official said.
Among 499 applications, the officials said, only “35 candidates were declared to have qualified the written test and were later called for the interview.” Out of which, later, only five selections were made against the required 10 that were referred to the PSC.
“1 post under Open merit in GMC-Anantnag and 2 posts each under Open Merit in GMC- Baramulla and Rajouri could not be filled up as no candidate from the said category has achieved the benchmark of 52.25%,” the officials, said, thus these five posts remain vacant, as of now.
Similarly, the Health & Medical Education Department referred 05 posts of Assistant Professor (Lecturer) Blood Bank to the Public Service Commission for being filled up from amongst the suitable candidates.
The posts were notified under Notification No. 01– PSC (DR-P) of 2018 dated: 17.01.2018 and in response to the notification 31 applications were received out of which “25 candidates were found eligible and were called for interview.”
Officials said that, however, against 5 posts that were referred by the Health Department, only 3 selections were made, “1post each under Open Merit in GMC – Anantnag & Rajouri could not be filled up as no candidate from the said category achieve the benchmark of 52.25%,” they said.
Pertinently, governor Satya Pal Malik last month had asked the health department to speed up the process of putting in place the required manpower for the upcoming GMCs before the MCI inspection which is due this month.
