Encounter breaks out in Tral, search ops on in Redwani Kulgam
Srinagar: A gunfight broke out between militants and government forces in Reshipora area of Tral in South Kashmir’s Pulwama district on Tuesday morning.
Reports said that a joint team of army’s 42RR, 180 BN CRPF and SOG cordoned off Reshipora.
As the joint team of forces intensified searches towards suspected spot the hiding militants fired upon government forces triggering an encounter.
As per the sources the house has caught fire where militants are trapped and believed to be members of Zakir Musa led group Ansar Ul Ghazwatul Hind.
Meanwhile another Cordon and search operation has been launched in Pinglish area of Tral.
Elsewhre, gunshots were heard in Redwani area of Kulgam district early Tuesday morning.
Reports said that that government forces have sealed off an area where suspected militants are hiding.
Reports suggested that one armyman has been injured in the exchange of fire.
