Incarcerated Shabir Shah is very sick: JKDFP
Threatens protest in case Shah will be deprived from medical treatment
Srinagar: Jammu Kashmir Democratic Freedom Party (JKDFP) on Friday said that its incarcerated chairman, Shabir Ahmad Shah due to serious ailments has turned into a skeleton in Tihar jail.
JKDFP Spokesperson as per a statement issued here said that condition of Shah was described by some of his close relatives who met him in the jail.
Quoting the relatives of Shah, JKDFP spokesperson said that Shabir Shah is seriously ill and he could hardly stand on his feet. “They could not recognize him at first sight as he has witnessed drastic weight loss,” he said.
The spokesperson said that family of Shah and party members are seriously worried about the deteriorated health conditions of Shabir Shah and have appealed for prayers for the ailing leader.
“Shah has lost more than 18kgs body weight and gone pale and could not even walk and stand properly. The relatives who had gone to meet Shabir Shah started crying on seeing his worsened condition,” he said, adding that the relatives informed the party that Shah’s health has drastically worsened which has really disturbed them.
“They said that Shabir Shah has been suffering from serious life-threatening ailments and authorities are playing with his life by not providing him suitable treatment which is only possible in some reputed institution like AIIMS,” JKDFP said.
However, the relatives of the incarcerated leader said that despite severe ill health the morale of Shah is very high, he said, adding that if its jailed leader is not provided immediate medical treatment, its members will hit the streets.
