Srinagar: Hurriyat Conference (M) paid tributes to three armed youth who were killed in two separate gunfights in Tral and Pulwama—Anwar Ahmed, Liaqat Wani and Wajid ul Islam.
The amalgam in a statement issued here said that “the youth are spilling their blood on daily basis only to free their homeland from the clutches of illegal occupation and that their sacrifices will never go vain.”
Hurriyat (M) said that the sacrifices of youth are priceless assets of Kashmir’s freedom struggle which will be protected by the resistance leadership and the people of Kashmir on all fronts.
“It’s high time that the people of Kashmir forge unity and remain steadfastness so that the ongoing movement is taken to its logical conclusion,” Hurriyat (M) said.
The statement strongly condemned the use of ‘brute’ force on the peaceful protests in south Kashmir districts leaving dozens of youth seriously injured.
It said that people of south Kashmir have been left at the mercy of forces who have made the life of people living there a hell.
Hurriyat (M) denounced the arrest of two students of Central University Kashmir and termed their arrest as ‘highly undemocratic’, adding that forces are using their unbridled powers across Kashmir and now students too are being made targets which is ‘highly condemnable’.
The statement said that “GoI instead of understanding the ground situation in Kashmir is banking on the military might to suppress the genuine aspirations of people through fear and intimidations.”
“While as resistance leadership is not allowed to move out of their homes to meet people on one hand, and on the other youth of Kashmir are pushed to wall leaving them with no option other than to choose armed means of resistance to fight the oppression,” Hurriyat (M) said.
