Encounter rages in Pulwama village
Srinagar: A gunfight broke out between militants and government forces in Tikken area of South Kashmir’s Pulwama district on Saturday morning.
Reports said that a joint team of army’s 55RR, 180/183 BN CRPF and SOG cordoned off Tikken area after getting specific information about presence of some militants in the area.
As the joint team of forces approached the suspected spot the hiding militants fired upon goverment forces triggering an encounter.
A senior Police official said that contact has been established with the hiding militants and exchange of firing is going on.
As per sources two to three militants are believed to be trapped.
