Srinagar: Authorities on Thursday afternoon restored the traffic for one-way on Mughal road after seven days of closure.

Sub Divisional Magistrate, Surankote, Mohammad Saleem Qureshi told a local news gathering agency that the road has been restored for one-way traffic and vehicles can now move along the Mughal road.

Qureshi said that he also visited the area including the Peer Ki Gali and took stock of the situation.

“Due to slippery road conditions and apprehensions of avalanches, the people travelling along the Mughal road are advised to cross Peer Ki Gali from 10:00 am onwards and 4:00 pm before,” Qureshi said.

The Mughal road – connecting the twin districts of Poonch and Rajouri in Jammu region with south Kashmir’s Shopian district was closed on Thursday last following the heavy snowfall in the area. GNS
