Sopore: For a month now Sopore’s Green Town has not been supplied portable water by PHE. On Monday aggrieved residents of the area blocked Sopore- Baramulla road demanding restoration of the supply.

According to protesting locals the portable water supply has been stopped to the area since a month now.

Raising slogans against the PHE department scores of the residents including men and women blocked Sopore-Baramulla bypass road at Green town.

PHE officers said that department is working to provide water supply through Watlab line to the area.

“Higher authorities had approved this scheme for the area and work on this scheme will be started soon,” officials said wishing anonymity as they are not authorised to speak to media.
