AAC pays tribute to Bangroo, Fahad, Rayees

Srinagar: Awami Action Committee (AAC) on Thursday paid tributes to Rayees Ahmad Sofi and two armed youth Mehraj-ud-din Bangroo and Fahad Fayaz who were killed in an encounter by the government forces at Fatah Kadal Srinagar.

AAC as per a statement issued here said that “the sacrifices given by our youth are priceless assets of this nation and it is our collective obligation to uphold and stay committed to the cause for which we are giving huge sacrifices.”

The statement expressed solidarity with Habibullah Sofi, father of Raees Sofi, who is a front-runner activist of AAC Halqa Syed Ali Akbar and has rendered lot of sacrifices for the cause of right to self determination.

AAC youth President Sufi Mushtaq Ahmad, Sahil Ahmad along with other party workers participated in the Nimazejinazah of the slain persons at Eidgah Srinagar.

AAC said that “wanton killings, arrest spree under PSA, lodging political prisoners outside state reflects that the fact that J&K has become a police state as all rights be it political, religious or human have be usurped by the State.”

The statement strongly condemned the continuous detention of its Chairman Mirwaiz Umar Farooq, Syed Ali Geelani, Muhammad Yasin Malik and others lodged in different police stations.

“Imposing curfew, restrictions, ban on internet can’t cowdown the sentiment of people of Kashmir for freedom,” the statement added.

Meanwhile, AAC head Mirwaiz Umar Farooq offered condolences and expressed sympathy with JKLF leader Muhammad Yaseen Bhat of Naseem Bagh over the demise of latter’s mother, a delegation of AAC comprising Ghulam Qadir Beigh, Syed Rehman Shamas and Sufi Mushtaq Ahmad participated in the funeral of the deceased.
