Budgam: A wild bear created panic in a Budgam village after it emerged from a forest area and  started attacking people.

A police official said that a bear emerged in Shunglipora village of Central Kashmir’s Budgam district and attacked people. He added that at least four people were wounded in the attack who were immediately shifted to hospital for treatment.

The police official identified the injured as Manzoor Ahmad Sheikh, Abdul Rashid Khan, Ishfaq Ahmad Malik and Sajad Ahmad Malik.

The locals alleged despite repeated pleas the Wild Life Department didn’t sanitize the area as the same bear appeared in the village a week before. (CNS)
