JRL calls for shutdown in poll bound areas
Srinagar: Joint Resistance Leadership (JRL) on Tuesday called for a complete shutdown in the areas going for polls on Wednesday.
According to a statement issued here, JRL comprising Syed Ali Geelani, Mirwaiz Mohammad Umar Farooq and Mohammad Yasin Malik asked people to observe complete protest shutdown in areas going for ULB polls in the second phase.
The trio said that people will show their total disconnect and dismissal of them by staying away and boycotting what they termed as a mere‘drama’.
The leadership appealed people to observe complete shutdown in the areas going for polls including Solina, Alochibagh, SD Colony Batmaloo, Ziarat Batmaloo, Shaheed Gunj, Karan Nagar, Chattabal, Qamarwari, Bemina East, Bemina West, Nund Resh Colony, Parimpora, Zainakote, Lawaypora, Mujgund, Tankipora, Haba Kadal, Barbarshah, Fateh Kadal and Munawarabad in Srinagar and Langate, Sumbal, Kunzar, Watergam, Chararshrieef, Beerwah, Magam Yaripora, Frisal, Anantnag and Bijbehara in north and south Kashmir.
