Police register case against teacher for assault on student

Police has registered a case against a Physical Education teacher for ‘assaulting’ a student who, according to the family of the student has suffered internal head injury.

     As per the complaint filed by the parents of a Class 10th student Muhammad Asif Dar, resident of Hanjivera Pattan area of North Kashmir’s Baramulla district, Physical Teacher Sajad Ahmed of Pioneer Educational Institute thrashed Muhammad Asif Dar badly during lunch break and threatened him of serious consequences in case he reported the incident to his family.

    Asif shortly after reaching home felt unconscious and was admitted to Sub-District Hospital Pattan under MRD number 75151. The doctors after conducting multiple tests including ECG and CT Scan revealed that the student has suffered an internal head injury. The student is currently being treated by a neurologist, the family alleged.

    Meanwhile, school authorities have assured the family that they will bear all the expenditures on the treatment of the victim student.

   “We have registered a case and waiting for the response of the school management,” said a police officer.

     An official from the Educational Institution in question said that they will initiate action against the erring teacher. He added that school will bear the expenses incurred by family on the treatment of the student.
