Syed Mubarik assumes charge as new president KUOA

Syed  Mubarik Ahmad, Deputy Registrar, four other office bearers and three executive members were today administered oath of office to the newly elected body of Kashmir University Officers Association (KUOA) , at a simple function held in the committee room of the administrative block.

 Dr Manzoor Ahmad Shah,  Chief Coordinator DIQA who acted as the  retuning officer  KUOA Elections 2017,administered oath of office to the newly elected members in presence of a select  gathering .Prominent  among them were  Chief Librarian  Dr A M Baba, President KUTA Prof Mohammad Husain, President KUMSA Abdul Rashid Mir , Gen Secretary Kumsa Mr Shan Sb ,  Joint Controller  Examinations Dr M Y Bhat, Executive Engineer  Mufti Burhan , Joint Registrars Altaf Ahmad Bhat and Dr Tanveer Ahmad Shah besides other officers of the University.

Earlier Syed Mubarik Ahmad, was administered oath of office as President (KUOA) in the newly formed body of the Association. A post graduate in  commerce  as well as  in  management  studies  with specialisation in finance, Mubarik Ahmad has  earlier  served in various capacities  in the University  of Kashmir. He has supervised internal audit of the University, various accountancy branches and initiated the process of double entry system and compilation of financial statements.

Besides this Asmat Kawoosa , Deputy Registrar took oath as Vice President, Showkat Shafi, Dy. Director DIQA as General secretary , Faheem Aslam Pro VC as Media Secretary, and  Hamiduallh Bhat Assistant Register as treasurer. Besides Dr Feroz Ahmad  Gurkoo , Dy. registrar, Abdul Rashid Sofi Assistant Registrar and Dr Sheik Mohammad Imran, Assistant librarian took oath as  executive members  of the Association.

Earlier Dr Manzoor Ahmad Shah Chief Coordinator ,Chief Librarian  Dr A M Baba, President KUTA Prof Mohammad Husain, President KUMSA Abdul Rashid Mir, Joint Controller Dr M Y Bhat, spoke about the importance of associations in the life of employees and the education institutions as a such. Dr Manzoor lauded the way KUOA members showed enthusiasm in the KUOA elections 2017 and participated in large numbers to elect their members. Prof Hussain expressed hope that these democratically elected members will strive to solve the problems of their fellow colleagues and also contribute in helping University achieve excellence in every field.  President,  Mubarik Ahmad  said  that  he will try to come up to the expectations of  the KUOA members and will always be  available for solving their problems. The new president also announced that  this year’s first general body meeting of KUOA will be held on 4th July 2017 Tuesday and he appealed all the KUOA members to be present.

 Established in 1988, KUOA strives to work for the administrative efficiency and academic excellence , to promote good governance and close coordination between University officers and students and making higher education relevant to the society at large.

KUOA also  strives to work for the welfare of  the officers and contribute in helping the University of Kashmir achieve excellence in all fields. Presently it has some 70 officers as members who are working at key positions in the main campus and  the satellite campuses  of the University and helping shape up the future of our new generation.
