International Yoga Day arrangements discussed at Kathua

In order to review the arrangements for “International Day of Yoga” being observed on 21st June 2017, Deputy Commissioner Kathua, Ramesh Kumar held a meeting of officers, here today.

It was decided that the event will be organized at Sports Stadium Kathua from 7 am to 8 am, where arrangements for large gathering will be made to celebrate the day.

 During the meeting the DC called for inter-departmental coordination and involvement of all stakeholders of the society for the success of the event.

It was decided that for generating mass awareness about the benefits of yoga ‘Run For Yoga’ will be held on June 19. The volunteers and government departments were asked to ensure mass participation of the people.

The DC asked different departments and agencies under district administration to make advance arrangements as per the responsibilities assigned to them. The Department of AYUSH was entrusted to provide yoga instructors, while   Health department was directed to ensure participation of trainees and staff along with deployment of Ambulance.

The Youth Sports Services department will do ground marking of the venue ground. The Education Department will ensure the participation of students of government and private educational institutions involving NSS/NCC volunteers, ITI and BEd colleges. Other departments viz PHE, ICDS, were directed to look after the water arrangements and public mobilization, respectively. The cleanliness of the venue and wide publicity of the event were entrusted to Municipality and Information departments respectively.

 The Members of social organizations like Art of Living, Patanjali and Yoga enthusiasts assured full cooperation to the administration by helping in wide publicity and providing other logistic support for the success of the event.

The representative of Nehru Yuva Kendra, Government and Private colleges will also provide students, staff and volunteers for the smooth observance of the event.

ADC, ACD, District Youth Coordinator NYK, CEO, Medical Officers, XENs, Tehsildar, DFO, Officers of Police Training School, CEO Municipality, DYSSO Kathua, representatives of Government and Private colleges, Patanjali, Art of living were also present on the occasion.
