Srinagar: Union Home Minister Rajnath Singh Monday reviewed the security situation with top officials of Home Ministry, Intelligence agencies and Central Armed Police Force (CAPF) heads. The Home Minister called for strengthening Internal Security Grid to thwart attacks on security establishments in Jammu and Kashmir.

The meeting was chaired by Union Home minster Raj Nath Singh at his Delhi residence around 4 P.M, in which the security situation in the state of Jammu and Kashmir came up for threadbare discussions.

“The meeting was attended by Home Secretary, heads of RAW, Intelligence Bureau, BSF, CRPF and other top officers of MHA,” sources said.

“During the meeting, the Home minister sought reports from the participants about the security arrangements in Jammu and Kashmir. The senior officials representing different security agencies briefed the meeting about the required steps to be taken to maintain law and order and ensure the security Plan in the state,” sources added.

Militant attack on Sujwan Jammu Army Camp, ongoing encounter in Karanagar Srinagar and other attacks of militants on security forces figured prominently in the meeting, sources said, adding that Home Minister expressed satisfaction with alertness and bravery displayed by the security personnel in foiling the attack and killing all militants in the Sujwan Jammu attack.

“An advisory has been issued to all para-military forces to maintain extraordinary vigil on their security establishments in Jammu and Kashmir including those located close to the Line of Control (LoC) and International Border (IB), to guard against possible attack in view of the Intelligence inputs, which suggested that more such attacks can’t be ruled out,” sources said.

Sources said that it was observed during the meeting that the militants were under pressure from Pakistan and Pakistan administered Kashmir (PaK) to carry out some spectacular attacks on security force establishments to avenge killings of a large number of militants including top commanders in the Kashmir valley.

According to sources, senior officers of Home Ministry, CAPFs and Intelligence agencies gave detailed briefing to the Union Home Minister on the internal security as well as the situation prevailing along the borders, where ceasefire violations in the past one month have been reported.

According to MHA sources, the central government was satisfied with the progress of ‘Operation All Out’ launched against militants by security forces in Kashmir in which number of militants including top commanders have been killed.
