Don’t link separatists with militants: Geelani to Army Chief
Srinagar: Hurriyat Conference (G) chairman, Syed Ali Geelani on Thursday asked Army Chief Bipin Rawat not to link separatist with the militants as the pro-freedom camp is seeking resolution of the disputed territory in a peaceful manner.
Addressing a joint presser of Mirwaiz Umar Farooq and Muhammad Yasin Malik via phone, Geelani said that Army Chief wants to link the pro-freedom leaders and militants with an aim to target them like militants.
“We want to tell the Army Chief that we don’t have guns and are fighting for our rights in a peaceful manner. We are asking India to resolve the Kashmir dispute by implementing the UN resolutions signed by them,” he said, adding that the allegations leveled by the Army Chief are baseless.
