35 kg ration being provided to AAYs : Minister

Jammu: Minister for Food, Civil Supplies and Consumer Affairs Choudhary Zulfkar Ali informed the Upper House that government is proving ration as per census 2011. He said under ‘Antyodaya Anna Yojana’ (AAY) each household beneficiary is provided 35 kg ration at the rate of Rs 3 per kg ration in the state including Gurez and Pahalgam.

Replying to a question of Sofi Yousuf, the Minister said the government provides ration to the beneficiaries at highly subsidized rates but there was no provision for providing free ration under AAY category.

Legislator Javed Ahmad Mirchal also raised supplementary question.
