#JusticeForAsifa: ‘We Volunteers’ demand exemplary punishment to culprits
Srinagar: Srinagar based ‘We Volunteers’ Saturday organized a sit in at press enclave demanding justice to the eight-year-old Asifa who was brutally raped and later murdered in Kathua
The participants were demanding immediate justice to the Asifa and equally bashed those who in a way defe
“Being a father I was compelled to come out on road to demand justice, which should not have happened, there should have been a proper mechanism in place in order to serve justice,” said Malik Asif, founder and chairperson ‘We Volunteers.’
“It is unfortunate that common people are coming on Roads against such a heinous and inhuman act which has shaken every human being and the irony is that some people are politicising the situation for their mean interests,” he said adding that on the day when Crime Branch was was to submit charge sheet what the lawyers did there was the height of immaturity
“We are requesting Govt machineries to provide Justice to Asifa and set an example by punishing every person involved in this inhuman act on fast track basis. Rape is an inhuman act. Every human being must take an oath to protect and defend women and children.
He further said that it was unfortunate the leader of such a large democracy has preferred silence over the heinous crime that has been committed against the entire humanity, “though he speaks about Beti Bachao, Beti Padhao, but he did not felt a need to speak a word about this Beti in Kathua,” Asif said.
People from different walks of life joined the sit in and were equivocal about serving justice to the victim by giving exemplary punishment to the culprits.
